Community College Honors Programs

I recently found out that I was accepted into my local community college's Honors Program. To be honest I couldn't be more happy. It was always one of my goals and I never had any idea as to whether or not it would be hard to get in.

All that was required was a basic Application, Essay, Letters of Recommendations and a required GPA. Nothing to rigorous, but enough to deter your average community college student who is looking to fly under the radar and graduate as soon as possible.

Being in an Honors Program has many perks that appeal to students like me. For example, the honors program at my local college gives Honors Program Students priority registration. This means I will always get the classes I want. Not to mention a special hangout and study area for when the library is to crowded or loud for my liking.

Check with whatever university or college you are attending to see what benefits their Honors Students receive as they might make your college experience more enjoyable. Not to mention it will add more credibility to your decision to stay out of debt by attending a state or community college.
