I was an Apple guy ever since my family replaced our PC in 6th grade. I finally had a computer with unmatched creative capabilities. Ever since then, I await new product releases like a kid when Christmas is a week away. I rarely buy, but when I do I make sure it is something that will help me produce an income and better brand myself.
So when Apple launched the new Macbook Pro with the Retina Display I was actually thinking about buying one. My Mac Desktop is on the verge of crashing and it seemed like the perfect time to buy. Until I heard how much it would cost me for the base model.
With $2,200 I could buy alot of different things including a nice 27" Apple iMac. This is actually what I will probably invest in when my current Mac crashes as a big 27"screen allows you to see more and work faster that on a 15" Macbook Pro. Not to mention PC Laptops run in the $500-$700 range, less than 1/2 the cost of the new Macbook Pros.
And yes, I have been saving up for a iMac (Around $1600) and will be paying in cash which is the best feeling ever!

Is $2,200 to much to pay for a Laptop? Do you prefer working on a Laptop or Desktop?
